Studies on Biological Preparation of Endurance in Top Athletes Consuming SUPRO® PLUS 675 Supplement.

PURPOSE OF STUDY:
To study the effects of a soy protein supplementation protocol on the body composition, muscle strength, muscle fatigue and urine mucoprotein of elite Olympic rowers.

PRODUCTS USED:
SUPRO® Soy protein (1.5 g/kg body weight) vs. carbohydrate placebo.

SUBJECTS:
Olympic rowers. 23 males and 20 females ages 17 - 33 years old.

MAJOR FINDINGS:
The SUPRO® supplemented group had:

  • Increase in lean body mass
  • Increase in muscle strength
  • Decrease in fatigue after exercise
  • Decrease in urine mucoprotein which is an indicator of metabolic stress.
  • Normal liver and kidney function

SIGNIFICANCE:
SUPRO® supplementation demonstrated positive effects on male and female Olympic athletes:

  • Increased lean body mass
  • Reduction of fatigue
  • Increased muscular strength
  • Reduced metabolic stress

IMPLICATIONS:
SUPRO® soy protein supplementation showed measureable and positive effects in strength and endurance athletes while reducing metabolic stress.
