ARNOLD JOINS THE SOLAE COMPANY AS PRESIDENT AND CEO
Former DuPont Ag and Nutrition Vice President Succeeds Tanda

ST. LOUIS, June 03, 2003 – The Solae Company today announced that Tony L. Arnold has joined the company as president and CEO following the resignation of Stephan B. Tanda. Arnold was previously vice president of Marketing for DuPont Corporation’s Ag and Nutrition business.

“We are very pleased to welcome Tony. He is well-regarded throughout the organization. His background in general management and marketing will help us immensely as The Solae Company accelerates the marketing of our many plant-based proteins to developers of a wide range of consumer products,” said Erik Fyrwald, chairman.

“At the same time, we are grateful for Stephan’s many contributions to our organization, and wish him well,” Fyrwald added.

The company noted that Erik Fyrwald, vice president of DuPont’s Nutrition and Health operations, will continue to serve as chairman of The Solae Company’s board of directors.
