MCINTYRE JOINS THE SOLAE COMPANY AS VICE PRESIDENT OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT

ST. LOUIS, MO., April 13, 2005 – Jonathan McIntyre, Ph.D. has joined The Solae Company as vice president of research and development, it was announced today by Tony Arnold, Solae’s President and CEO. In this position, Dr. McIntyre will be responsible for research and development, quality assurance and regulatory affairs.

A well-known research and development professional with experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and nutrition industries, Dr. McIntyre joins The Solae Company from Auxeris Therapeutics, a discovery stage biopharmaceutical company developing drugs for bone diseases, where he was chief of development and operations.

Prior to that, he was chief scientist for Monsanto Protein Technologies, which focused on contract manufacturing of therapeutic proteins utilizing corn seed as a production host.

Dr. McIntyre began his career at Monsanto as a discovery scientist with G.D. Searle’s Cardiovascular Disease Research Group, where he contributed to the discovery of several clinical candidates. More recently, he was an integral part of Monsanto’s Nutrition Division, where he held a series of positions, most notably, director of product development. In that role, he led multiple projects including programs on plant sterols, omega three fatty acids and milk derived protein-peptide products for managing blood pressure.

A graduate of Grove City College with a bachelor’s degree in chemistry, he earned his doctorate degree in biochemistry and completed a post-doctoral fellowship from the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine.
