Engineering Cooperative Program

Responsibilities, requirements, discipline focus, and work sessions at operating facilities of The Solae Company are subject to vary.

Responsibilities Include
  • Provide support to Engineers in executing Pilot Plant tests, plant trials and daily unit operations.
  • Execute experimental tests and write outlines and reports.
  • Provide administrative support to Manufacturing Unit Managers.
  • Coordinate follow-up activities for operating units.
  • Assemble, analyze, and input data.
  • Some travel and shift work may be required.
Minimum Co-op Requirements *
  • Compliance with education facility’s career services center guidelines.
  • Currently enrolled as a sophomore, junior, or senior working toward receiving a BS degree. Primary Engineering disciplines: Chemical, Mechanical, Biological, Agricultural, Biochemical, Electrical, and Industrial.
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 on a 4.0 scale (Cumulative and Major).
  • Possess strong math and statistical background, and a technical aptitude for unit operations.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).
  • Computer proficient with MS Office (specifically Word and Excel).
* Program is not suitable for MS or Ph.D. students.
