Valuing diversity is recognizing the uniqueness of skill, style, communications, and credentials of every employee. It is the policy of The Solae Company not to discriminate against any employee or applicant for employment because of age, race, religion, color, sex, disability, national origin, ancestry, marital status, sexual orientation, or veteran status.


The Solae Company values diversity through encouragement of employee diversity networks and other support groups that provide a mutually beneficial relationship for the Company and employees. The networks provide a forum for people from with similar interests, culture, background, and issues of concern to come together to provide mutual support and develop personally and professionally. The following are employee initiated networks and organizations of The Solae Company:

African American Professional Employees Network (AAPEN)
Mission: Encourage the development and maintenance of a network driven by diversity through the recognition, acknowledgment, and celebration of cultural differences through purposeful programming. This network will be composed of African American employees who consistently exceed expectations in their productivity, their commitment to excellence, and their personal responsibility for growth of self and growth in their roles within the departments of The Solae Company.

Hispanic Network (HISNET)
Mission: Promote a work environment that welcomes and supports employees of Hispanic and other cultural backgrounds, including them in all aspects of the business, and to empower all Hispanics to contribute, learn, grow, and advance within the organization.

Professional Employees for Equity and Respect at Solae (PEERS)
Mission: Help attract and retain talented gay, bisexual, lesbian, and transgendered people by:

  • Using awareness, education, and visibility to create an environment free from homophobia and heterosexism
  • Partnering with Human Resources to design compensation and benefit plans that meet all employee group needs
  • Providing forums to discuss and advance issues and expand the network
  • Ensuring a safe, healthy and supportive environment in the workplace that empowers gay, bisexual, lesbian, and transgendered employees to be open and authentic about themselves
  • Creating awareness of the gay, bisexual, lesbian, and transgendered market

Solae Asian-American Network (SAAN)
Mission: Promote a corporate environment that fully values and maximizes contributions of Asian Americans, and encourage and support Asian Americans in achieving business success and personal growth.

Women’s Initiative Network (WIN)
Mission: To build a brighter life and better tomorrow and to foster a great working environment by interactively engaging the talents of women, advancing member learning, leadership, accountability, and careers to increase brand and consumer insights and ensure sustainable growth of The Solae Company.
