Phil Kerr, Ph.D.
Senior Director – Research & Development
Phil Kerr is the senior director of Research & Development for Solae.
Kerr has held various technical positions within DuPont's agricultural products business unit. These include soybean product development manager for DuPont Quality Grains and research supervisor for DuPont's Agricultural Biotechnology unit. He has experience in developing commercial soy products from novel varieties created from both conventional and molecular biology techniques, as well as through the use of various soy ingredient processing & bio processing technologies. Prior to joining Solae, he was director of New Technology for DuPont Protein Technologies.
Kerr is a plant biochemist and physiologist by training and is the co-author of numerous journal articles and book chapters on plant carbon and nitrogen metabolism. He is also the co-inventor of more than a dozen issued or pending patents on various aspects of soy or corn grain, refined soy protein and oil products and their use in both food and animal feed applications. He is an active member of the American Oil Chemists Society and the Institute of Food Technologists.
